I love everything about this season: the snow, the Christmas lights, the holiday music, seriously EVERYTHING! And if your love for Christmas is as serious as mine then that means EVERYONE within eye\u2019s sight has to love Christmas too&#8230; bless my poor husband\u2019s heart. I love to do all things festive with the family and even make a point to try to create holiday-inspired foods for the whole family! Yes, that includes baby! Here are 4 of my Holiday Inspired Purees for baby that are festive and nutritious!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-114 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Brussel-Sprout-Squash-Cranberry-01-300x235.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Brussel-Sprout-Squash-Cranberry-01-300x235.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Brussel-Sprout-Squash-Cranberry-01-768x603.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Brussel-Sprout-Squash-Cranberry-01-1024x803.jpeg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Brussels Sprout + Squash + Cranberry Puree<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 cups of fresh or frozen Brussels sprouts<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 small squash<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd cup of cranberries<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wash all ingredients with cold water. For Brussels sprouts, slice off the stems, then remove any of the outer leaves that are blemished. Use a large knife to cut squash in half from top to bottom, and then scrape out the seeds and any remaining strings. Peel and cut into cubes. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fill half of a medium saucepan with water, and then bring to a boil. Add the sprouts, squash, and cranberries then lower the heat to medium low. Cover, and let simmer 8-10 minutes, or until tender. Drain the water and let cool slightly. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place the sprout, squash, and cranberry \u00a0mixture in a food processor or blender and pulse to create a smooth, thick puree. Add breast milk, formula or water if needed to create the right consistency for your baby.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-115 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Carrot-Lentil-01-300x228.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"506\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Carrot-Lentil-01-300x228.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Carrot-Lentil-01-768x585.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Carrot-Lentil-01-1024x780.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Carrot-Lentil-01-290x220.jpeg 290w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 506px) 100vw, 506px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Carrot + Lentil \u00a0puree<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 medium carrots or 1 \u00bd cups baby carrots<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bc cup of canned lentils, drained and rinsed<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd cup breast milk, formula, or water<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wash and peel the whole carrots, if using. Cut off stems and tip, then cut in half cross-wise. Chop into 1-inch pieces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bring a medium pot to a boil. Add carrots and cook for 7-10 minutes, or until just tender. Add the lentils and cook an additional 3-5 minutes, until the carrots are fully tender and the lentils are warm. \u00a0Drain in a colander.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add the carrots, lentils and breast milk, formula, or water to the bowl of a food processor or blender. Pulse to create a coarse and chunky puree.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-116 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Squash-Quinoa-01-300x266.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"509\" height=\"451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Squash-Quinoa-01-300x266.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Squash-Quinoa-01-768x682.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Squash-Quinoa-01-1024x909.jpeg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 509px) 100vw, 509px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Squash + Quinoa Puree<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 cup butternut squash, cubed and peeled<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 cup of cooked quinoa<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd cup water, breast milk, or formula<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bring a medium pot of water to a boil and then add the squash and cook for 13 minutes, or until tender. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add the cooked quinoa, squash, and \u00bd cup of breast milk, formula, or water to a food processor or blender and pulse to create a soft puree.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-117 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Cranberry-Applesauce-1-01-300x245.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"542\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Cranberry-Applesauce-1-01-300x245.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Cranberry-Applesauce-1-01-768x627.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/happytummiescookbook.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Cranberry-Applesauce-1-01-1024x836.jpeg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 542px) 100vw, 542px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Cranberry + Apple Puree<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 apples<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd cup of cranberries<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 tablespoons breast milk, formula, or water<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wash the apples, then peel and cut into quarters. Remove the core and seeds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fill half of a medium saucepan with water, and then bring to a boil. Add the apples and cranberries then lower the heat to medium low. Cover, and let simmer 8-15 minutes, or until tender. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place the apples, cranberries, and 2 tablespoons of breast milk, formula, or cooking water into a food processor or blender and pulse to create a smooth, thick puree.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just barely getting into making baby purees?
